What Alice & Andrew had to say about their Snowdonia Elopement.

There are a few reasons why we decided to elope. We’ve already had a big formal wedding in Russia and for our legal UK wedding we just wanted a relaxing day where it was all about us and no one else mattered. Living a busy city live in London, we’re really country people at heart and fell in love with Wales, its rugged charm, the picturesque scenery and the beautiful views. So when we decided to elope there was nowhere else but our favourite spot in Snowdonia where we wanted to go – Dolgellau.

We found a super dreamy cottage for 2 on Air BnB and from the moment we arrived we knew it was the perfect choice! We wanted to go on a bit of a walk for photos before and after the ceremony so we asked Babs to come to the cottage first thing in the morning. I had brought 2 dresses so after the walk we went back to the cottage to get changed. I knew I didn’t want anyone to do my hair and make-up but I really wanted a flower crown so I got in touch with Flowers by Adele who made me a gorgeous one, and our photographer Babs picked it up for us on the way to the register office.

We managed to keep our slot at the Register Office before Wales went into COVID-19 lockdown and even though our ceremony involved plastic gloves and social distancing for the 6 of us – it was just perfect! And intimate! After the ceremony we spent time with Babs taking photos on Barmouth Beach. The beach was deserted and beautifully sunny and we just had the best day every! When we got back to our cozy cottage, we enjoyed more Russian caviar and endless champagne and ended the day in our very own hot tub.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day so any couples reading this thinking about an elopement … do it! It really was the best day of our lives and we will cherish every single moment forever!
