Wedding Photographer for a beautiful military wedding at Wick Bottom Barn

Mid June we went on a road trip for a beautiful military wedding at Wick Bottom Barn and I had been booked as the Wedding Photographer. The barn is a well-kept secret tucked away in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. It features gorgeous stone buildings, warm comforting spaces and stunning outdoor areas with views over the Marlborough Downs. We arrived just shy of midnight the day before and spent the night in the van, close to Wick Bottom Barn.

With a small army of family & friends supporting them, the couple spent 3 days setting up Wick Bottom Barn to reflect her vision and it really showed!

There was something instantly lovable about them both. We kicked off the day with bridal prep at Dorwyn Manor in Avebury. It’s part of an extraordinary set of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial sites that seemingly formed a vast sacred landscape. Together with Stonehenge, Avebury and its surroundings are a World Heritage Site and I was really looking forward to seeing it for myself.

After the church ceremony the couple had wanted to go on a drive around Avebury to take some beautiful wedding photography portraits. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans and by the time we left church it was chucking it down. When we arrived at Wick Bottom Barn though, the sun was shining and all the guests were able to enjoy drinks in the beautiful farm yard while listening to The Wiltshire String Quartet. The couple enjoyed the afternoon tucking into some tasty food with their nearest & dearest and listened to the all important speeches. We even managed to squeeze in a little photo walk before confetti & dancing, happy days!

Beautiful wedding vows, singing Take Me Home, Country Roads in the church and a day filled with people and things they love – I absolutely loved capturing this stunning day for this lovely couple!
