Snowdonia (Eryri) Elopement Planning and Photography
Elopements | Micro Weddings check availabilityschedule free consult callImagine a wedding day as unique as you. A day that’s all about your connection, your dreams, and the only thing that truly matters – YOU.
Imagine exchanging your vows in a setting so epic, it takes your breath away and feels like it was put on this beautiful Earth just for you – ruggedly charming mountains, dramatic coastal cliffs or wild windswept beaches.
If you’ve ever felt that the big white wedding just isn’t for you and you’ve wondered if only there was a different way to get married, one that lets you break with most traditions (but keep the ones you love), have a day full of joy and romance just for the two of you (with the option to invite a few guests if you’d like), and embrace all of your quirks to create a celebration that’s unapologetically you – then let me tell you, there is a way! What you need is a romantic elopement in Wales or a micro wedding, and Eryri (Snowdonia) is the perfect place to make it happen!
Why I plan & photograph small weddings & elopements
“Honestly couldn’t recommend this lovely woman more!”
“If you love the outdoors, want a truly special and tailored wedding day which doesn’t feel impacted or lead by staged photos then Babs is absolutely for you.”
As soon as I found Babs on instagram, I knew that she had to be a part of our day. The natural, candid, genuine moments she has captured throughout our day are memories I will cherish forever. The communication I had with Babs on the run up was excellent, she took exactly the vibe we wanted of a small wedding and then an adventure with our guests afterwards and helped us tailor our day to exactly that. Even with a last minute change the day before due to us slightly over estimating our adventure location, she was calm and collected and managed to bring this stress head back down to earth.
Her presence and personality on the day was perfect. She wasn’t pushy, she didn’t make everyone pose – everything was natural and candid, just as we wanted it to be.
She was friendly and chatty with my friends and family – they couldn’t speak more highly of her and she’s often an extremely positive talking point of the success of our day. It wouldn’t have been the same without Babs and the moments she’s captured will live on forever will us.
Thank you for being a part of our day and making it so special!
If you want a super relaxed and totally stressfree wedding day and value an experience more than material things; if you don’t want to worry about traditions you might not agree with and if you want to only concentrate on the things that truly matter on your wedding day – try and imagine yourself getting married in a mystical little land full of sheep, legends and beauty! If you can – an adventure elopement in Wales could be perfect for you!
I’d say an elopement is the ultimate intimate wedding celebration, it only focuses on the one thing that truly matters – the two of you exchanging your vows and committing to one another. No seating charts, no endless admin, and no stress – just love, connection, and joy.
If planning your wedding has you bogged down with tricky arrangements or energy-zapping to-do lists that feel more draining than exciting – an elopement in Eryri | Snowdonia might be exactly what you need!
Maybe you’ve heard the term “eloping” tossed around but you aren’t quite sure what it actually means or how to go about it in the UK. Or maybe you’ve seen dreamy photos of couples eloping in far-off places like Scotland, Iceland, or other far-flung destinations, and you’re wondering if something closer to home could offer that same magic.
Absolutely. Eryri | Snowdonia is the perfect backdrop for a Just Us wedding – stunning scenery, endless adventure, and the freedom to celebrate your love whichever way is your way. If the idea of skipping tradition and embracing something deeply personal resonates with you, let’s make your elopement dreams come true!
Some of the best reasons why you should elope in Eryri (Snowdonia):
The natural beauty of the mountains and coastlines of Eryri (Snowdonia) is breathtaking and they’re the perfect backdrop for romantic wedding photos and an unforgettable setting for your special day. Getting here is pretty quick & straightforward, you could be enjoying the true wilderness of Snowdonia, the UK’s most ruggedly charming elopement location, and have a simply magical wedding day just by driving here – we’re only a 5-hour drive away from the centre of London!
Eloping means combining your love of travel and adventure with sharing a small, more intimate and truly intentional wedding ceremony. You can find secluded spots here where you can exchange vows in private, whether that’s after a legal ceremony, at a registry office, a small and romantic ceremony-only venue or during a celebrant-led celebration at the bottom of a hill or on a beach. Let your wedding day truly be about you and your partner and reduce the stress associated with large weddings so that you can focus on what’s truly important – celebrating your love for each other.
We also have an abundance of dreamy Air BnBs, romantic lodges and cute shepherd huts in incredibly remote locations available for a romantic weekend wedding getaway and exciting eateries dotted around the area. Eryri (Snowdonia) is perfect for adventurous souls dreaming of a beautiful and meaningful elopement wedding that’s good for the soul and the environmental. And all that is possible at a fraction of the cost of the average UK wedding which in 2023 was £20,000.
AS IF you need more reasons!
But if you do, take a look at this elopement guide which covers everything from why you should elope to Snowdonia, the legalities, what paperwork you need and much, much more.
“We had the perfect day, despite the pouring rain, and I am so glad that we had our wedding our way. Every single person has commented on how incredible our photos are, and I certainly have to agree. We could not recommend Babs more!”
Let me help you plan an intentional & adventurous elopement in Wales.
If you haven’t fully decided on a date yet – here are a few little pointers to help you find your perfect date:
In my experience – this very much depends on your own preferences for weather, scenery, and level of solitude and what feelings & emotions each season brings out in you. Each season comes with its pros and cons and so to put it simply – the best season for you to elope is the one that works best for you. If you haven’t got a firm favourite – I personally would avoid high summer and busy holiday periods; early Spring and late Autumn are great seasons for an elopement in Wales. For more info on seasonal changes and for a cheeky look at how other couples eloped through the seasons head to my guide on the best time to elope in Snowdonia.
I’ve scouted many picturesque locations already to help you find your perfect ceremony/adventure picture combo.
Eryri boasts a wide range of stunning landscapes, from the peaks of Snowdonia to serene glacier lakes and enchanting woodlands. I know the area like the back of my hand and can suggest venue/location combos that are off the beaten path, away from busy tourist traps and provide the perfect backdrop for your ceremony (both legal and symbolic) and photographs. My local knowledge also means I can help you choose the perfect ceremony location based on your preferences, the season, and any specific requirements you might have. You’ll find more info in my guide on the best places to elope in Wales.
You get full access to my little black book full of awesome local supplier connections.
From local florists and celebrants to hair and makeup artists, cake makers and videographers – if you’d like to add any of these services to your elopement day (not mandatory, of course!) – I can put you in touch with as many (or as few) talented local suppliers you need to provide the services that would make your big day perfect for you.
Happy to suggest the best locations & itineraries for an incredible wedding day with your dog(s), whatever their needs/abilities:
Having helped plan and having photographed dozens of beautiful elopements with dogs here in Wales already, if there’s one thing it’s proved to me it’s that our furry companions are definitely so much more than just pets! They are valued & treasured family members and including them on your wedding day adds a whole lot of emotional value and a sense of completeness to what is meant to be the best day of your life. A slightly wild elopement in Wales can be an option if you want to get married with your dog(s) by your side so that you can cherish the moments shared with them for years to come. For more info, read my post on how to elope with your dog in Wales.
Personalised Itinerary Planning to suit your needs & wants.
An elopement is so much more than just a short ceremony; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and to get the most out of it – happy to help you craft a personalised timeline including what to do before or after the ceremony, and adventurous activities that include your dog(s)/kid(s)/family(ies).
If you found this information helpful and you’d like me to help you put all the different elements together and photograph your dreamy elopement wedding day in Wales – happy to help!
