Surprise proposal in Dolgellau - Babs Boardwell Photography

Let’s just say that conditions for this super romantic surprise proposal in Dolgellau were a tad on the wet & misty side. All week we’d been keeping a close eye on the forecast but on my drive up to this stunning lakeside location I knew that it was going to be a wet one. I also knew that after the near-miss at Lucia & Anna’s Snowdon proposal, after which I’d promised myself not to rely on the phrase *there will not be another single female with a camera in hand around*, that I was probably going to be right this time.

Jordan had been in touch via email a couple of months before surprising his lovely bride Lucie with this Snowdonia proposal. We’d talked about how fab it’d be if there was a little snow but at no time did either of us anticipate that England would go into full lockdown again and so there was no guarantee the couple would actually be able to travel to Wales.

As it turned out the Universe was on our side and so on a wet & misty afternoon in early December I found myself watching the couple on what Lucie thought was a short walk around the lake on their anniversary. Somehow Jordan managed to persuade her to walk in the rain for far longer than she’d hoped for. In total awe of his persuasive powers, I didn’t actually realise that he had no idea where I was until he somehow managed to message me…

How to plan a proposal in Snowdonia

After some frantic messaging things were back on track and just a short while later the couple were right in front of me and my camera. I watched a very nervous Jordan pull out the all important box while Lucie admired the views across the stunning lake and then it was time for the main event!
