A beautiful wedding day in Snowdonia

We just couldn’t have asked for better weather for a beautiful wedding day in the Welsh mountains! It was super sunny from start to finish. And is there a better way to kick off the day than with a dip in the lake? Which didn’t really surprise me seeing as Claire is super fit! She is a regular coach for Chester Triathlon Club and can often be found pool side coaching at technique swim sessions. My guess is suggesting a refreshing dip in the lake was probably the least painful option for her friends haha.

I joined Claire and the girls for bridal prep at the absolutely stunning Sygun Fawr Country House & Hotel just outside Beddgelert. And I gotta say – I’ve seen quite a few breathtakingly beautiful spots!! And it’s not often I wish I could trade the van for something a little more luxurious. But if I had to stay somewhere that doesn’t have four wheels – this gem of a country house would absolutely be super high up on my list! Impossible to get a bad angle up there!

Once Claire was out the lycra and in her wedding dress we made our way to my absolute favourite Snowdonia wedding venue. Sitting a little above the campsite by the lake, some of their friends & family had brought motorhomes, vans & tents to stay over in on the private field. I went inside the barn to look for Steve and found him actually looking quite nervous, bless! Their ceremony was raw and personal and ended with a passionate kiss and I absolutely loved it!

After spending some time with their guests, the couple grabbed their drinks and we went to take some pics. It was every bit as epic and scenic and beautiful as I had hoped for. In fact, I hadn’t expected to see sun at all but sure as heck was’t complaining!

Fun wedding in Snowdonia

We spent the rest of the afternoon eating delicious food, listening to some funny speeches and hanging out by the trees overlooking the lake and it was absolute heaven! At some point we made our way to the lake to take pictures of them both on a boat. I don’t think Steve was expecting a wedding day workout……but they did look awesome so well worth his pain haha.

If I had to sum up their wedding day I’d say they did it exactly the way they wanted to and made sure they had some fun along the way. And I loved watching them start their happily ever after surrounded by friends & family who all seemed equally crazy in love with all things lycra and painful and what could possibly be better than that!!!?
