Scenic pre-wedding shoot at the base of Snowdon

Scenic pre-wedding shoot at the base of Snowdon

This week you’ll find me shooting at Ingleton Manor on the Wirral and I’m very much looking forward to it! Hopefully, we’ll have some more of that glorious dry spring weather we’ve been having over here in beautiful North Wales this year. Speaking of beautiful North Wales – is there anything better than a scenic pre-wedding shoot at the base of Snowdon with views to die for?!

As a member of the Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team up in lovely Durham, it was pretty obvious we had to find a suitably mountainous area for Andy and Jen.

Great day for a scenic pre-wedding shoot at the base of Snowdon

We picked Snowdon or Yr Wyddfa in Welsh. As the highest mountain in Wales, it’s one of the most famous and recognisable landmarks. Six different paths enable walkers and climbers of all ability levels to conquer this 1,085 m giant. Although on this occasion we did give walking up a miss and chose a super scenic spot at its base instead.

Something tells me their farm wedding in Yorkshire is going to be awesome! Here are the highlights of their scenic pre-wedding shoot at the base of Snowdon. Knitted bobble hats & moon boots. You’re welcome!

Thinking of hiking up Snowdon?

Pick a route that suits your fitness level.

It’s no fun stumbling across unfamiliar territory exhausted and you may well be putting yourself in danger.

Stick to your planned route.

Don’t just follow others ahead of you. They may end up on a route that’s not suitable for your fitness level.

Make sure your boots are comfortable.

And suitable for the terrain. Sounds obvious, right?!

Take a rucksack.

Bring plenty of food and drink plus all the equipment you think you may need. The weather can change in an instant so make sure you’re prepared.

Check the weather forecast!

If it deteriorates during your walk round – turn back.

Tell someone reliable which way you’re going up.

And don’t forget to let them know if you change your plans so that they can raise the alarm if needed.

Llangollen Sunset Pre-Wedding Photographer
Llangollen Sunset Pre-Wedding Photographer  We've had so many unbelievably stunning sunsets this year? Made being a Llangollen Sunset Pre-Wedding Photographer an absolute pleasure! For this shoot, I took a very nervous looking Aaron & Alicia to one of my favourite dog walking spots.  We met at a pub and they followed me up the hill to my secret location. They didn't need to worry; we kicked off the shoot with some simple and relaxed walking in some gorgeous looking heather. We then took it up a notch and I took them to my favourite tree for some minor posing against the pretty red berries.  It really took no time at all for them both t ...

A pre-wedding mini adventure
A pre-wedding mini adventure around Llangollen Adam & Hannah are having their wedding at the Vale Country Club, a family run business in the heart of the vale of Clwyd. They will get married in early May. For their pre-wedding mini-adventure, we headed into the hills above Llangollen. As a North Wales Wedding Photographer I know I can't always trust our temperamental Welsh weather. When we headed up the hill the light was glorious. But the higher we went the more overcast & windy it became and unfortunately we did not end up with the sunset I had hoped for. Pre-wedding mini adventures in North Wales Still. Pre-Wedding Shoot in the hills of North Wales
Pre-Wedding Shoot in the hills of North Wales Considering they are my fittest couple to marry this year, things got off to a somewhat slow start for this pre-wedding shoot in the hills of North Wales. There'd been a road accident and so I had to go on a 45-minute diversion. While I normally enjoy spending a full sunset with my couple, by the time I finally got to our destination the sun was already pretty low down. Luckily, Steve & Claire were happy to wait for me and so we were able to spend some time together while talking about their exciting wedding plans and getting used to being comfortable in front of the camera. They both enjo ...
