A relaxed four-hour wedding with family, mountain views and a little time for just the two of them.

Some weddings are lovely because of how simple they are.

H & E chose Llyn Gwynant Barns, right in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), for a small wedding with their nearest and dearest, including their three children.

A legal ceremony in the barn, a meal together afterwards and a little time to head off on their own and enjoy being newly married.

Four hours altogether. And what a lovely way to spend them.

A First Look by the Lake

Before the ceremony, Holly shared a lovely first look with her dad down by the lake.

With the mountains surrounding Llyn Gwynant, it was a beautiful spot for a little moment together before heading back to the barn for the wedding.

One of the things I enjoy about smaller weddings is having time for moments like these without everything feeling too scheduled.

A Small Legal Wedding at Llyn Gwynant Barns

Holly & Edward had their legal wedding ceremony with a registrar inside Llyn Gwynant Barns, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Their three children were there to share the occasion too, making it a proper family celebration.

The barn is such a lovely setting for a small wedding, especially if you love the idea of getting married somewhere surrounded by mountains but still want the simplicity of a legal ceremony indoors.

And with Llyn Gwynant just a short distance away, there’s plenty of beautiful scenery to enjoy without needing to travel anywhere else.

A Little Wedding Celebration With Their Favourite People

After the ceremony, everyone gathered beneath the pavilion for a meal together.

Nothing overly complicated. Just good company, food and a chance to enjoy being together.

I think that’s one of the nicest things about very small weddings. You can still have all the parts of a wedding day that matter to you, but there’s less pressure to fill every hour with something.

And when you’ve only invited a handful of people, there’s more time to actually spend with them.

A Little Wander Around Llyn Gwynant

Once everyone had enjoyed some time together, Holly & Edward headed off for a little wander around the grounds and by the lake.

Just the two of them, surrounded by those incredible Eryri mountains.

We took some photographs along the way, but more importantly, they had a chance to spend a little time together and take it all in.

That’s something I love building into smaller wedding days. Even when you’re celebrating with family and friends, it’s lovely to carve out a little time for yourselves afterwards.

And somewhere like Llyn Gwynant, you don’t have to go very far to find a beautiful spot.

Four Hours of Wedding Photography at Llyn Gwynant Barns

One of the things Holly & Edward’s wedding shows so beautifully is that you don’t necessarily need a full day of photography to have your wedding documented.

In four hours, we had time for:

  • A first look with Holly’s dad beside the lake.
  • Their legal wedding ceremony in the barn.
  • Congratulations and time with their family and friends.
  • A meal together beneath the pavilion.
  • A little wander around the grounds and lakeside photographs of the newlyweds.

Of course, every wedding is different, and how much you can comfortably fit into a few hours depends on your plans.

But if you’re considering a very small wedding in North Wales, it’s worth knowing that a shorter celebration can still give you plenty of time for the things that matter most.

Planning a Small Wedding at Llyn Gwynant Barns?

Llyn Gwynant Barns is a wonderful option if you’re drawn to the mountains of Eryri but would love to have your closest people there too.

You can enjoy a legal ceremony in the barn, celebrate together and make time to explore the beautiful surroundings afterwards.

And your wedding doesn’t need to be an all-day occasion to feel like a proper celebration.
