Adventure Couples Photography sessions in Eryri (Snowdonia)

Hi, I’m Babs, super relaxed wedding & elopement photographer based in North Wales with my husband Rich and 3 lovable but borderline feral collies. We love to travel in the campervan that he’s converted and often explore the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and coastlines of the Llŷn Peninsula. When I’m not taking photos I’m usually trying to keep up with the dogs (seriously, it’s a workout!). Life with them is never boring, and their endless energy is my daily reminder to keep exploring and embracing the unexpected.

I’m an elopement wedding photographer based in the heart of glorious North Wales. The awe-inspiring Eryri National Park  (Snowdonia) is right on my doorstep and if you’ve never heard of it – this super stunning little gem of a country makes the most perfect backdrop for romantic adventure sessions in Wales.

Our coastal walks around the wild Llŷn Peninsula are some of the best in the UK, and stunning mountain ranges like Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Glyder Fawr, and Tryfan provide stunning views for adventurous souls. If you join me on a picture-perfect couple photography session in Wales – I promise you’ll leave a piece of your heart here; the country, the Welsh language, the friendly people, and above all the stunningly rugged scenery will be etched in your memory forever.

Plans still a bit vague? That’s totally okay – we’ll figure it out as we go along.

Wales Adventure Session FAQs

Where are the best places for a couples photoshoot in Wales?

L
K

Wales is full of gently wild, breathtaking places for couples who feel most at home outdoors. Some favourites include the mountain valleys and glacier lakes of Eryri (Snowdonia), the quiet coves and long sandy beaches of the Llŷn Peninsula, the rugged cliffs on Anglesey, and the open moorland trails of Mid Wales. Whether you’re dreaming of coastal light, soft forest shade, or sweeping ridgelines, I’ll guide you toward a location that matches the atmosphere you’re drawn to.

What should we wear for an outdoor couples photoshoot in Wales?

L
K

Wear clothes that feel comfortable, natural, and like you. Soft, earthy tones photograph beautifully in Welsh landscapes, and layers are always a good idea (the weather likes to keep us guessing). If we’re planning a short hike, bring sturdy shoes or walking boots – you can switch into something dressier once we reach the spot. Think warm, practical, and relaxed, with room for movement and cuddles.

How long does an adventure couples session last — and what’s included?

L
K

Most adventure sessions last around 60–90 minutes, depending on the location and any walking involved. You’ll receive a curated online gallery of full-resolution images, ready to download and print. I’ll help with planning, route ideas, timing for the best light, and gentle guidance on the day so everything feels easy and relaxed.

Do we need to be good at posing for a shoot like this?

L
K

Not at all. These sessions aren’t about stiff poses or feeling “on show.” They’re about the two of you being yourselves – walking, exploring, talking, laughing, and enjoying the landscape together. I’ll offer natural direction when needed, but most of the magic comes from the quiet, unscripted moments between you.

Can we bring our dog or add a short hike or adventure to the session?

L
K

Absolutely, please do! Dogs are always welcome, and Wales is full of dog-friendly trails. If you’d like to add a gentle hike, explore a hidden cove, or wander through forests and lakeside paths, we can shape the session around that. The goal is to create an experience that feels like a tiny adventure – not a photoshoot.

What happens if the weather is bad during our Wales photoshoot?

L
K

Wales is known for its moody skies and shifting light – often the weather adds atmosphere rather than taking anything away. If it looks unsafe or truly unpleasant, we’ll adjust timings or switch to a nearby sheltered location. Otherwise, a bit of wind and soft drizzle can make the photos feel even more intimate and cinematic.

Do you offer engagement shoots, anniversary sessions, or holiday couple sessions?

L
K

Yes – adventure sessions are perfect for engagements, anniversaries, proposals, or simply celebrating who you are right now. Many couples book while visiting Wales on holiday or during a mini-break in Eryri, Anglesey, or the Llŷn Peninsula.

How far in advance do we need to book an adventure couples session?

L
K

Weekends book up quickly, especially in spring and summer, so it’s best to secure your date a few months ahead. Weekdays are often more flexible. If you’re travelling to Wales last-minute, just message me – sometimes a quiet window appears.

Can we choose the location, or will you help us find the best spot?

L
K

You’re welcome to bring ideas, but most couples prefer a little guidance. After you enquire, I’ll send over a selection of locations based on the type of scenery you love most – mountains, forest, lakes, beaches, or something low-key and quiet. I prioritise places with beautiful light, easy access, and room to breathe.

How many photos do we receive after the session?

L
K

You’ll receive a full gallery of beautifully edited images – usually between 35-50 photographs depending on the length of the session and how much exploring we do. All images are delivered in high resolution with full printing rights.

Can we include a proposal or vow renewal in an adventure session?

L
K

Yes – basic proposals & vow renewals (in a location that doesn’t require a long walk-in – happy to plan a bespoke adventure though so please ask), and “just because” celebrations all fit perfectly into an adventure session. If you’re planning a surprise proposal, please head over to my Surprise Proposal Page).

What’s the best time of year for a couples shoot in Wales?

L
K

Each season brings its own atmosphere. Spring feels fresh and green, summer is ideal for golden evenings on the coast, autumn offers the richest colours in the mountains, and winter brings dramatic skies and quieter trails. There’s no wrong choice – just the season that reflects the feeling you’re hoping for.

How much does an adventure session cost?

L
K

Pricing depends on the length of the session and the location, but all sessions include planning guidance, the full gallery of edited images, and travel within my main areas. Once you enquire, I’ll send over a full price guide so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you help with planning, routes, or accessibility options?

L
K

Yes – I’m here to make the experience feel simple and enjoyable. I’ll help with route suggestions, timings for the best light, accessibility-friendly alternatives, and little details that make the session relaxed and meaningful.
