Wedding Photography

Love being a Wild Pheasant Wedding Photographer

I first met the lovely Shane & Sammy over a quick drink on a beautiful sunny day at the Cornmill in Llangollen. Sam told me that they had been let down by another Wild Pheasant Wedding Photographer and had sadly lost their deposit. Unfortunately that was not the first time I’d heard of a couple being let down. But luckily for Shane & Sammy I still had availability on their chosen date and so, as the saying goes, the rest is history!

We next met up again on a beautiful Friday evening in July for their pre-wedding mini adventure around Cwm Idwal in beautiful Snowdonia (to see more of that click here). I love adventurous couples that trust me without knowing what to expect and after our pre-wedding shoot I knew I’d be in for a lot of fun as their Wild Pheasant Wedding Photographer!

The Wedding Day

Their fun filled relaxed wedding day started with the groom & bride getting ready at the Wild Pheasant Hotel in Llangollen. Bridal prep is always one of my favourite times of any wedding day, even more so with a bunch of super nice & funny Welsh girls! It was nice to see them all having a hoot together and I must say Sammy looked absolutely stunning in her Britney Platinum Dress!

The ceremony was lovely. Having waited a long long time to finally get his beautiful bride down the aisle, Shane might have been a tad excited as he shouted out YESSS before the registrar had even finished her sentence 😉 🙂 🙂

Following their ceremony and drinks reception we headed off to the neighbouring field for some relaxed couple portraits. I might have been pushing my luck a little asking the bride to cross a barb wire fence but Sammy took it all in her stride and with the help of Shane and a couple of other strong men she was across it in no time at all. We spent the afternoon listening to some really funny speeches, had some fun with the group shots and then Sammy & Shane just mingled with their nice friends & families until it was time for their first dance.

It was an absolute pleasure to be their Wild Pheasant Wedding Photographer and probably the first (and perhaps only!) time that things ran according to plan. Something tells me Sammy being a manager in the catering industry has something to do with that!

Here’s to a lifetime of love & happiness Mr. & Mrs. Jones – couldn’t have asked for a more laid-back & fun couple! Thanks for picking me as your Wild Pheasant Wedding Photographer xoxo

Barmouth Wedding Photographer
This was my first time at the Bae Abermaw Hotel as a Barmouth Wedding Photographer. And hopefully not my last! The hotel itself is positioned in a beautiful spot right above the bay of Barmouth. I got me all excited just looking at it online so imagine how happy I was when I finally got there! Rich & Laura had booked my 6 hour half day wedding photography package. They wanted me to capture the end of bridal prep, their wedding ceremony, speeches and a fun afternoon with all of their guests. I first met Laura as she was getting ready with all of her lovely bridesmaids around her. I remember thinking I was in for a great day as her smile ...

Welsh Wedding Traditions
St. Dwynwen's Day As a relaxed wedding photographer based in North Wales I am of course super interested in Welsh Wedding Traditions. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Welsh Wedding Traditions is probably St. Dwynwen's Day and Llanddwyn Island not far from Newborough Beach on Anglesey. It's where Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers, lived in the fifth Century.  Legend has it that she was one of the prettiest of Brychan Brycheiniog’s 24 daughters. She fell in love with a prince called Maelon Dafodrill, but unfortunately her father had already arranged for her to marry someone else. Dwynwen was ...

Manchester City Wedding Photographer, Lock 91, Manchester Here's a throwback to this stunning and alternative wedding I shot as a Manchester City Wedding Photographer from last September (promptly reminding me of that painful parking ticket.....). If you're one of the cool kids - like Luke & Cheryl here - you absolutely don't need to spend a fortune to have an amazing wedding day. Considering there was a lot going on all around her, Cheryl took it all in her stride and kept on smiling. She looked absolutely freaking stunning in her vintage inspired wedding dress and Luke scrubbed up quite well, too! ;) After all the hustle and bustle ...
