These are some of the questions I get asked a lot so I thought I’d compile a list – some might answer a couple of the questions you may have already:

Do you have my date available? How do I book you?

To check if I am available on your date head on over to my Contact Me section and send me an enquiry. I will either get back to you online or we can meet for a free consultation.

How far in advance do I need to book with you?

Booking early is always advisable, especially if your date is in prime wedding season (May – September). Sometimes I’m also still available at super short notice though so don’t hesitate to head on over to the Contact Me section and send me your enquiry; I will try my best to get back to you within 24 hrs.

How would you describe your photography style?

I’m an observer. Picture sniper. And I love watching & framing you in interesting spots, wherever they may be. You don’t need to get married in a huge picturesque country mansion or on the beach (although that does help, of course haha). The love you have for each other will shine through on the day and it’ll be ridiculously easy for me to capture that, I promise! I will not boss you about or stage things. If I see something that I think would make for a great picture I’ll just try (really hard!) to convince you to come and hang out with me in that area for a few minutes to get some great shots.

We hate posing for pictures. Do we need to pose?

I know exactly what you mean! I will not pose you unless you want to include some traditional family photos – these need to have a little bit of structure to them. As for posing – we will just take some relaxing time out from friends & family which won’t involve anything more strenuous or stressful than walking together and looking at one another which is a super easy and natural thing to do on your wedding day.

How would you describe your working style?

I am very much a relaxed photographer and try to blend in with you and your friends & family as much as I can. I’m not the type of person to rush you along or tell you where you need to be, I will be mainly observing you to capture your day as it unfolds.

What do you think distinguishes your work from that of other photographers?

I just think that every wedding day is beautiful and I will try my hardest to capture all those real & raw emotions alongside all the fun bits to tell your very own story. I’ll be on the look out for all those special little moments, be it laughter or tears, happiness or madness.

Do you have a portfolio I can review? Are all of the images yours, and is the work recent?

Yes! I try to keep my Blog up-to-date with recent work and you can also find some pictures over in my Portfolio section.

Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like?

Of course! As my approach is photojournalistic I am assuming by specific shots you are referring to family group pictures – I recommend keeping this list as short as possible & would suggest that we do not spend more than 30 minutes doing these. After all – there’s some partying to be done!

What information do you need from me before the wedding day?

I like to meet all of my couples in person and preferably with something alcoholic in my hand. If you don’t live in North Wales we can also do this via Skype or FaceTime and if alcohol isn’t your thing then anything non-alcoholic (preferably hot) is (of course!) also an option. For me it’s quite important that we have a bit of a connection and at least recognise each other on the day so don’t be shy and let’s definitely say hi!

Are you the photographer who will shoot my wedding? Will you have an assistant with you on that day? If not, who will be taking the pictures and can I meet them before my wedding?

Yes, it’ll be me taking all of the pictures on your wedding day. I do not have an assistant but for £200 you can easily add a second photographer to your package. This will allow us to capture groom prep as well as bridal prep, different angles during the ceremony and also more candid pictures while I’m with you shooting groups & portraits. You will not meet the second shooter before your wedding day but I can assure you that I only work with awesome photographers who shoot their own weddings as well and whom I fully trust, have shot with before and who bring a lot of fun to your day. Most of the second shooters I shoot with are male.

Are you photographing other events on the same day as mine?

Never! You will have my undivided attention for the entire day.

Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos?

I guess as the paying client that’s entirely up to you. As I am the only paid photographer on the day though I recommend not having others as they can sometimes get in the way and I might not be able to capture as many clean shots as I should do. Also – phone and tablet screens (in the middle of an aisle, for instance) can easily ruin a good shot which is why I would always recommend an unplugged wedding. At the end of the day though it’s entirely up to you – let’s just say I personally wouldn’t go to a restaurant and ask to cook alongside the chef…

What time will you arrive and for how long will you shoot?

Generally speaking I aim to meet the bride a couple of hours before the ceremony and will stay until first dance. If there are loads of people on the dance after the first dance I sometimes stay on to get some party pics but this depends entirely on how much of a party animal you and your guests are.

What packages do you offer?

Full day coverage, half day coverage and I also have hourly rates.

Do you do discounts?

Actually, yes! My husband is ex military and a full team member of our local Mountain Rescue team and so I am more than happy to give back by offering a 15% discount on my full day package to all emergency services such as NHS staff, military personnel, police officers & Search & Rescue volunteers. Just let me know that you are *one of them* and I’ll reflect that in your quote. Special discounts may also apply to super beautiful or different venues (tipi weddings, outdoor weddings, farm weddings, elopements, small but different weddings, themed weddings) so remember to let me know as many details of your special day as possible and I’ll see what I can do.

Can I customise a package based on my needs?

Yes, absolutely! This would need to be agreed before finalising your booking.

Do you include adventure shoots in your packages?

Yes, all of my packages come with a free pre-wedding adventure shoot in a mutually agreed location and last approx. 45 – 60 minutes. These cannot be swapped for maternity or newborn sessions and cannot be deducted from the package price as they’re free. They do give us a chance to get to know each other before your wedding which really does help to relax you on the day. Plus you get some awesome pictures before the wedding and you won’t have to do much other than walk and talk & look at each other. Bring some of your favourite music if you like!

What type of album designs do you offer? Do you provide any assistance in creating an album?

A super nice album can be added from £400.

Do you provide retouching, color adjustment or other corrective services?

All of my images are hand-edited. Additional charges may apply to photoshop manipulations that involve a lot of skill (such as removing tattoos/people/objects etc.)

How long after the wedding will we receive our images? Will they be viewable online? On a CD?

I aim to deliver a fully secure, online gallery that you can share with all of your friends & family within 4 weeks after your wedding.

When will I receive a written contract?

Within 24hrs of the booking being made.

How much of a booking fee do you require and when is it due? Do you offer a payment plan?

A non-refundable booking fee is due when the booking is made. The amount of the booking fee depends on the package you booked; the remainder is due 30 days before your wedding. A payment plan can be agreed if you wish to do so.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

If the wedding contract is cancelled or postponed by the client with more than 30 days prior to the wedding, any payments made (other than the non-refundable booking fee) will be returned. If the wedding is cancelled within 30 days of the wedding, the full amount will become non-refundable. In the highly unlikely event that I am unable to complete the coverage due to unforeseen circumstances, a back up photographer will be provided. If no backup can be found, all money (excluding the non-refundable booking fee) will be returned to the client.

Oh. One last thing. Do we need to provide food for you?

That’s entirely up to you. I’m happy either way. Just let me know if there won’t be any food for me so that I can bring a packed lunch or something.
